Director's Message
Dear Parent,
Starting education at 5 is too late, give your child the pre-school advantage.
Getting a child on the path of successful life starts sooner than you think. Resarch conducted over two decades has proven that maximum learning in children occurs during the first few years of their lives. Their grasping power and the ability to understand the world around them is the highest during the period. Resarch has also proved that 50% of child's adult intelligence is developed in the first five years and 90% of the brain pattern is set in that period.

Why Pre-schools?
From the time of birth, all children are ready to learn. However, what we do or don't do as individuals, educators and collectively as a society can impel or impede a child's success in learning years ago, pre-schools were mostly viewed as a way to teach kids to socialize and have some fun. While socialization and fun are integral parts of a small early education, it's only one piece of the pie. Introducing pre-primary kids to numbers, letters and a variety of social skills gives them a firm, lasting advantage in life and prepares them for entry into primary school. Children who are not given this opportunity have shown to be at an apparent disadvantage, lagging as much as a year and a half behind in language skills, and never completely catching up.

How do Pre-schools help?
The positive effects of a good pre-school education are evident as early as age 15. Studies indicate that teenagers who attended pre-school have better rate of advancing in each class than those who didn't. Also, pre-school educated students were twice as likely to enroll for higher education.
These comparisons continue into adulthood, as research has proven that children with pre-school background become more motivated adults with an increased desire to learn new things and the capacity to enjoy better health.
Primary school readiness is another important factor to consider. With an ever-increasing number of children entering primary school each year and many class sizes getting larger, it's nearly impossible for the teachers and schools in general to tend to the individual, educational and social needs of every child. Primary teachers have reported that students who attended pre-school are more equipped than students who haven't. Children who've attended pre-school tend to excel in the development areas of social skills, language, literacy, creativity and initiative. This goes to show the merits of sending your child to a pre-school, earlier the better! Now once you've taken the decision to send your child to a pre-school, how to you evaluate a good pre-school for your precious one? Here are some ready tips.

What to look for while selecting a good pre-school?
First and foremost, look for a pre-school that provides a safe & positive environment for your child. A low teacher-to-child ratio and teachers trained in early childhood education are the other important elements to look for in a pre-school. Only in such an environment an individual attention can be paid to every child's need while promoting creativity and curiosity as well as fostering independence. The pre-school curriculum should also be suited to meet the all-round development of the child, including emotional growth, social skills, verbal communication, intellectual awareness and physical capabilities.
Working in smaller groups enables pre-school teachers to adjust their activities and levels of instruction to fit the developmental stage of each child, with an emphasis on fun. A close relationship between parents and teachers based on daily reports and open communication builds a strong foundation. This helps their children navigate a positive course to and through elementary school and life. Remember that learning in your children is the result of interaction between the child's thoughts and experiences with materials, ideas and people. These experiences should match and child's developmental abilities, while challenging the child's interest and understanding. This is exactly the mission at Eurokids-Nepal.

What makes Eurokids so different?

At EuroKids, there is an ongoing observation, which provides feedback for the parents during the parent teacher meets. These are based on the behavior of children as a part of the class, their growth in all developmental areas, what they enjoy, where they run into difficulties, how they get along with other children and teachers and how they communicate.
The parents are also kept abreast with the happenings at school through month-end letters, newsletters and invites to celebration of special days and festivals.
